This craft was super easy.
Supplies:
• bezel ring blank
• glitter
• Mod Podge Dimensional Magic
I started with a bezel ring blank. This one is from the Industrial Chic line available at Michael’s. http://www.etsy.com/listing/66570406/adjustable-oxidized-silver-ring-with
The most important step in this project is to find a way (ahead of time) to hold the ring upright and flat while it dries. You need something wide enough to hold the width of the band, but not so wide that the ring doesn’t stand up perfectly flat. Some ideas: a ribbon spool with a wide hole in the center, a tab cut out of a tissue box, or a narrow empty bottle. I didn’t have any of these, so I just stood up a fat crossword puzzle book and stuck the ring into the pages.
It is also important to have a good area in which to work so you don’t end up getting glitter everywhere. If you’ve done any crafts with glitter, you already know what I mean. I took a large piece of tin foil and shaped it into a flat box with high sides.
Once you’re all set up, the process is easy.
1: Pour the glitter into the ring blank.
2: Fill the ring blank with Mod Podge Dimensional Magic
3: Let dry (perfectly flat) overnight
4: Add another layer of Mod Podge Dimensional Magic
5: Let dry overnight
That’s it! The two layers of Mod Podge are important…the first will fill the spaces between the glitter, but the ring won’t be smooth. The second layer will form a small dome over the top so it looks nice and finished.
Enjoy!
